What is right and what is wrong? Most religions present rules around what a sin or having sinful behavior looks like. These guidelines become the moral compass we then live by, placing judgment upon ourselves as well as others, based on beliefs. What if we can shift how we see this?

When we do anything that is considered a “sin” or “bad” we are most likely fearful of something. Digging deep into the reason we make destructive decisions, brings a full picture of who we are. Fear of emotions can result in substance abuse, verbal abuse, violent tendencies, and judgment. Fear of not being good enough can result in the same as above as well as finding things to fill the void (sexual interests or obsessions, over-eating, over-exercising, lying, stealing, gambling, or hurting others).

Fear of our past, even if we feel like we have asked for forgiveness can make us feel unloved, unworthy, ashamed or guilty, all of this comes from “fear.” When we do not love ourselves unconditionally and make decisions from a place lacking love, fear is driving how we move through this life. I believe we are here to overcome and face those fears with unconditional love in our hearts. When we find ourselves making decisions that are not from a loving place we need to reflect and acknowledge the fear holding too much power.

SO maybe there does not have to be any judgment, rather growth within ourselves in knowing our goal is to simply love ourselves from a whole place and recognize our patterns and behavior as messages to our inner-world. Love truly is the answer to everything!
