Celebrating Crazy Momma’s

Flying out the front door in a bathrobe, make-up smeared and hair a ragged mess I scream after one of the four children who forgot their lunch sitting on the counter. As I pass off the sacred package and collect myself a bit more, suddenly realizing the entire neighborhood has just had a peak into my messy morning, I hurry back inside, making sure not to make eye contact with anyone. Inside my head, I am laughing at myself as I replay my thunderous episode. A small giggle escapes knowing I have mildly entertained those who may have witnessed such an event.

As I scurried through the front door, I look to my left and see yet another one has left their lunch and retainer as well. We all think we are so organized (or maybe that is just me pretending) and ready for anything, yet things like this happen daily.

This may have been a few years back, however the vision is still so clear… Perhaps, this “event” reoccurring so frequently gave me more to “reminisce.” Nonetheless, chasing down children, reminding them to wipe their face, flush the toilet, drink more water, Pee “in” the bowl, not around it, please do not chew that gum on the floor of the bus, say please and thank you, let that squirrel go, he cannot be your friend and so many other “one-liners,” has never left my daily routine. For this I am thankful and full of smiles, looking back at some of the finer moments.

I suppose this might have been why Mother’s Day came along… To celebrate the “crazy” life of every mom out there. This includes the grandmas, aunts, friends and everything in between. When you love and care for a child, your inner-crazy gets cranked up no matter what and THAT is worth celebrating!

Happy Mother’s Day to you all! XOXO
