I have to be honest the days and weeks filled with more and more disaster are hard to understand and see the silver linings. My heart has been aching for weeks now. The fires raging across the country have seemed to slow and have begun to smolder. However winds and water continue to slash through island after island, churning through the oceans making one last statement as they hit the mainland.
These messages come with force, purpose and no joke. We are called to wake. We are called to reflect and evaluate. We are called to make change. We are called to gather, as loving communities. The beauty in all the rubble comes when our hearts serve one purpose; to love unconditionally while we help our neighbors.
Perhaps today we can do this within our community without an excuse of a disaster striking. Perhaps today we can see each other with more loving and compassionate eyes than ever before. Perhaps today can provide a new sense of connection to humanity.
Let’s rise as one, love freely, and feel the joy in every moment we are blessed with. As we build this love, let’s send it to our brothers and sisters struggling, feeling alone, a sense of helplessness or otherwise despair. May our love be so strong it can reach their heart, letting them know they are never alone and we are here.
