“What are you core beliefs?”
“Where do you draw the line of right and wrong?”
These beautiful questions came from a dear friend, I have come to know over the last few years. As a Christian she was interested in what we taught our children and believed ourselves. I am beyond grateful for this conversation as well as this connection.
Love… This is my core belief and the place I live my life from. If I am doing something that does not feel good or is not from a place of love, than it is simply out of alignment due to a lack of love. This may seem simple and too easy, however I believe it is exactly what Jesus spoke of many times, love others, love yourself and treat others with absolute love. Judgement is not ours to control or have, rather this takes away from our purpose.
I believe our entire goal is to love ourselves unconditionally, in turn shining the same unconditional love back to every single person and living thing we encounter. I also believe spending too much time with building a set of “rules” of what is right and wrong enters into a slippery slope of judgement, guilt, shame and obligation. Each of us has the capability to access far more than we realize, due to the divine light we are made of.
When we are able to truly connect to ourselves, our inner strength and power increases exponentially. In my experience, churches represent an interpretation of what we are meant to access form Man. These teachings may be important and valuable, however our inner connection or as I refer to “my spirituality,” feels far more important in my core beliefs than any written guidelines.
The validation within my being, as I read, as I pray, as I engage in conversation and practice this path of love allows me to know what is in balance not necessarily what is right or wrong. This is my belief, therefore I know the beliefs of others are going to certainly differ as well as they are exactly right for each individual, therefore I respect and honor those beliefs.
I also appreciate others beliefs, as I learn and grow from them equally. I believe Love should be given to every person, even those who may have harmed myself or others, as they are a part of me, as I am a part of them, to judge is not my place, rather love the part of them that is pure, no matter how small it may be.
What do you believe?
